4. Training, Information & Qualifications

You should have in place, and implement, training arrangements to ensure your employees have the skills and understanding necessary to discharge their duties.

You should have in place a programme for refresher training which will keep your employees updated on new developments and changes to legislation or good Health and Safety practice.

The training matrix provided should have been updated within the last 12 months and include all direct employees and labour only sub-contractors as listed at the start of your application.

Any training already booked in for future months should also be listed in the matrix.

Evidence of a company-based training programme suitable for the work to be carried out.

All training certificates provided for assessment must be in date.

Please note we are looking for a selection of certificates for various team members and various qualifications – we do not need to see every certificate for every team member.

Evidence required:

  • Training Matrix

  • Evidence of health and safety training completed

  • Evidence of trade qualifications (S/NVQs, City & Guilds, BTEC etc)

  • Evidence of specialist training (PASMA, IPAF etc)

  • Evidence of an active CPD programme

  • Evidence of relevant training as required by Health and Safety legislation or approved code of practice

Individual Qualifications and Experience

Employees are expected to have the appropriate qualifications and experience of the assigned tasks.

Evidence required:

  • For Contract / Site Managers – details of any specific training such as the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) certificate or equivalent.

  • For Site Supervisors – details of any specific training CITB Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificates or equivalent.

  • For professionals, details of qualifications and/or professional institution membership.

  • For site workers, details of any relevant qualifications such as S/NVQ certificates

  • Evidence of a company based training programme suitable for the work to be carried out.
