3. Competent Advice

Your organisation, and your employees, must have ready access to competent Health and Safety advice, this can come from either internal or external sources.

External Health and Safety Advice

Evidence of your relationship / contract with an external consultancy together with details of their qualifications / experience to deliver this level of support.

The advisor must be able to provide general Health and Safety advice, and also advice relating to sector specific Health and Safety issues.

Evidence required:

  • Service Agreement or Certificate of Membership with an external consultancy or external consultant’s CV and evidence of qualifications.

  • Evidence of advice given within the last 12 months – this must be specific to your organisation and not generic information such as newsletters.

Internal Health and Safety Advice

Qualifications accepted by assessors: NEBOSH, NVQ Level 6, CITB SMSTS, IOSH membership, OSHCR membership.

Evidence required:

  • CV

  • Evidence of qualifications
