Deem to Satisfy

If you're already certified by another SSIP member scheme

Written by Kim Halls

If you're already certified by another SSIP member scheme (like CHAS, SMAS, SafeContractor, etc.), you may be eligible to gain SSG Assessed certification through the Deem to Satisfy route.

This is a quicker, simpler, and more cost-effective way to become SSG Assessed without repeating a full assessment.

What is "Deem to Satisfy"?

Deem to Satisfy means that SSG recognises the validity of your existing SSIP certificate and allows you to gain SSG Assessed status without undergoing the full evidence submission and review process again.

How It Works

1. Hold a valid SSIP certificate
You must already have current certification from an SSIP-approved scheme (e.g., CHAS, SMAS, Acclaim, SafeContractor, etc.).

2. Submit your certificate
Upload a copy of your valid SSIP certificate to the SSG portal.

3. Verification by SSG
SSG will verify your certificate against the SSIP database and confirm that it meets the required criteria.

4. Receive SSG Assessed status
Once verified, you'll be awarded SSG Assessed certification under the DtS route, without having to duplicate evidence or go through another full audit.

Benefits of the DtS Route

· Faster certification process

· No need to repeat documentation already submitted to another SSIP scheme

· Saves time and reduces admin

· Cost-effective, especially for multi-client contractors

· Full access to the SSG portal and support services

Annual Renewal

When it’s time for reassessment, you can continue using the DtS route (with a valid SSIP certificate) or opt for a full SSG Assessed review — whichever best suits your needs.
